It's funny how a single experience can bring you both excitement and anxiety. I've had a great few weeks in Atlanta, recuperating from graduate school, catching up with friends and family and channeling a lot of excitement and anxiety. One would hope these two emotions would net one another out, and the person with these said emotions would be relaxed. With me, they just seem to compound. What is driving these emotions, you ask?
- Finishing a school-year long nonprofit board project
- Packing and moving to Washington, D.C.
- Starting a new job
- Southern Sudan's impending independence
- Turning 31
While my excitement and anxiety don't balance one another out, a friend on Facebook reminded me of the only truth that does bring peace in times of transition and change by posting one of my favorite verses.
"
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11
So tonight, I'm at peace with who is in control and who already knows how all the plans and preparation will turn out.

I have found comfort in the same verse several times in my life's journey. It helped me remember WHO is always with me.
